Clarinet with Driftwood

This creation combines a clarinet with Florida driftwood.

 

The long piece of driftwood contains parts of the clarinet beginning with the mouthpiece and ending with the clarinet bell.  The keys and various parts of the clarinet were removed and repositioned on the driftwood.

The base is also Florida driftwood.  It is connected to the top piece by a wrought iron rod. 

​

It is approximately 36" long, 30" tall and 12" wide.  Both pieces of driftwood have been sanded, sealed and stained dark walnut to more closely resemble a clarinet.  It has 3 coats of clear protective varnish.
