Clarinet with Driftwood

This piece artfully blends a clarinet with Florida driftwood to create a unique sculptural form.

​

The clarinet was fully disassembled, with each component carefully repositioned and mounted along the driftwood to evoke the instrument’s original shape. The mouthpiece anchors one end, while the bell completes the other, preserving the familiar silhouette in an organic, reimagined way.

The base, also crafted from Florida driftwood, is joined to the upper section by a wrought iron rod, adding both stability and a subtle industrial contrast.

Measuring approximately 36 inches long, 30 inches tall, and 12 inches wide, the piece has been sanded, sealed, and finished in a dark walnut stain to echo the look of a traditional clarinet. Three coats of clear protective varnish provide durability and a refined finish.
