This imaginative creation was handcrafted from an eclectic collection of musical instrument parts and repurposed mechanical components, including sections of a bass clarinet, trombone, tuba valves, and CO₂ cartridges. These parts have been transformed into an entirely new creation with the appearance of a fantastical steampunk vessel powered by its own collection of mysterious machinery.
The rear of the sculpture incorporates parts from a computer fan and vacuum cleaner, adding authentic industrial character and mechanical intrigue. Above the body, copper tubing becomes a pair of distinctive smokestacks, while carefully shaped aluminum coils represent streams of smoke rising from the engines. At the center sits a large, brilliantly colored red sphere representing the ship's bridge, giving the sculpture an unexpected splash of color and personality.
The entire creation is mounted on a naturally sculpted piece of Florida black cypress driftwood, whose rugged, weathered texture provides the perfect foundation for the industrial metalwork.
Adding even more intrigue is the large aluminum spiral mounted on the front of the trombones bell to conceal a speaker to become functional art. It's a Bluetooth Speaker!
