Violin with Driftwood

This piece merges a wooden violin with Florida driftwood to create a striking, organic sculpture.

​

The violin has been thoughtfully divided into four sections—the upper body, lower body, neck and fingerboard, and the scroll with peg box. Each component, along with the chinrest and tailpiece, has been carefully arranged and mounted onto the driftwood, preserving the essence of the instrument while giving it a new artistic form. The composition also incorporates the violin bow, completing the presentation.

The Florida driftwood has been sanded smooth and buffed with a natural paste wax, enhancing its texture and character.

Measuring approximately 36 inches long, 29 inches tall, and 12–14 inches wide, the piece has a gentle, natural lean that reflects the organic shape of the driftwood and adds to its unique visual appeal.
